I am a mom of a mathematically gifted 13 year old who has taught himself calculus (I am math handicapped) over the summer and now demands more math stimulation, which is not available in his 8th grade. I am trying to find out how to support him without burning him. He has a love for “pure” math and not so much for competing in math quizzes and Olympiad. Any advice is welcome. He is twice gifted as well. Calculus is easier than working on a art project or writing poetry. We are also struggling with teachers not knowing how to support him. Look forward to hearing from you.

I just find a very useful information about Gifted Students in your web page! I want to express my deep gratitude for all what you are doing and all information provided.
This is very difficult to find here in my country.

My wife Ruth and I have two very smart children: it was very difficult for us and for them, too, to get the right education programs. We had to register them in public schools and some private High Schools Institutes that resulted not good for them. Our older daughter, ended her HS of “Bachillerato” (as we call it) in 2017 and she is at Los Andes University looking for an opportunity in the Faculty of Music (she loves and plays the piano and the violin). Her little brother, 16 years old at present, get away his HS last year, when he was beginning Grade 10. on that time, his HS was evaluating him to promote him in advance to the last grade, that is to say 11th Grade. He is at home with us, playing the piano from time to time.

We have been searching the way and institution to carry out an IQ or another test for him as a Gifted Student that allow him to enter University Education without ending in common way the colombian system of Secondary Education. We had not been succesfull in this action and we do not have enough resources to guarantee his education.

Information you offer is an excellent guide for us! But we would like to know if it is possible to get some help from you!

Thanks for your kind attention and collaboration with us!
