The description of ASD in this article contains a lot of harmful rhetoric that just isn’t true. I understand it is an older article, but for anyone reading it’s important thing to note. I would also like to add that “Asperger’s” is counted by most of us autistics as offensive and outdated as it has connections to Nazi ideology.

I’m not sure what to make of the GADC, I have a diagnosis of Aspergers (and am a psychotherapist/gifted) and don’t recognise myself in many of the ASD traits listed – it seems rather outdated and male centric (cannot do empathy for example, that’s a total myth!) when the female autistic phenotype reads much more like the descriptions for giftedness. Very fascinating and I look forward to reading more.
